How to Avoid Fruit Flies

Tired of seeing fruit flies flying around your newly bought fruit.  Her is a safe way to ensure your fruit does not get infested with fruit flies.

 

Step 1

Clean your refrigerator with bleach or vinegar.  Soak your refrigerator drawers than bleach them out.  This is to remove and kill any larva from the adult fruit flies.

Step 2

Only purchase the amount of fruit you can eat in a short period of time.  Your best bet for purchasing longer lasting fruit.  Is to purchase your fruit from your local fruit and vegetable stand.  Fruit that is purchased in grocery store are sprayed with pesticides and insecticides.

Chemicals that are sprayed on fruit.  Make the fruit appear to be fresh.  When in fact the fruit is ripening from the inside out.

Step 3

Soak your fruit in a bowl full of vinegar and water.  Use about a half a cup of apple cider vinegar.  Let your fruit soak for 20 minutes than rinse.
