Prevent Dehydration Using Spices

If you have been, vomiting for several hours and you are feeling weak and dizzy. You are showing signs of being dehydrated. Weakness and dizziness are your classic signs of dehydration.

Dehydration can be life threatening. Also vomiting without anything in your stomach is life threatening. Better known as the dry heaves!

This article only suggests some remedies and hopefully some temporary relief. These remedies may or may not cure your symptoms depending on what is causing you to feel sick to your stomach.

If you have been vomiting less than 24 hours. I would try some of these suggestions and remedies. Most importantly stay hydrated until you can see a doctor.

Obviously you want to try some suggestion and remedies from what you can find in your home. When you are sick to your stomach the last thing you want to do is leave your home.

First look in your medicine cabinet to see if you have anything for upset stomach or nausea. If so, take the recommended dose.

Go to your kitchen. Fill up a medium saucepan with water. Turn the burner on high. Look at the herbs and spices you have and look at the list of spices and herbs in the list.

Put aside all the herbs and spices you have on the list. If you have nothing on the list you need to get someone to make a store run for you. You will need at least five of the spices and herbs on the list.

  • Bay
  • Chives
  • Coriander
  • Dill
  • Fennel
  • Mint
  • Parsley
  • Rosemary
  • Sage

  • Black pepper
  • Caraway seeds
  • Cardamom
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Chilies
  • Cinnamon
  • Cloves
  • Coriander seeds
  • Cumin seeds
  • Fenugreek
  • Ginger
  • Horseradish
  • Juniper berries
  • Mustard seeds
  • Nutmeg
  • Saffron
  • Turmeric

Now that you have your herbs and spices set aside. Hopefully you had at least five of the herbs listed.

What you are fixing to make is a broth. So turn on the burner. Add a good amount of the seasoning you selected.

Keep adding the herbs and spices until the broth has a great smell and has a good color. Bring your broth to a boil.

Note: You could add chicken. I suggest you wait to see if you're going to be able to hold just the broth down.

The purpose of making this broth is to rehydrate you. While introducing nutrition to your system.

If you manage not to vomit and the nausea went away. You could add some crackers or noodles with a little chicken to your broth.
